Larry Newman


Born in Los Angeles, California. Resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Married to Sandy. President of Electra Flyer Corp., a maker of hang gliders.

In 1978 he became one of the first to cross the Atlantic in a balloon. For this he received a Congressional gold medal. In 1981 he joined Ben Abruzzo, Rocky Aoki, and Ron Clark in a balloon flight from Nagashima, Japan, to northern California.

He died of cancer in Scottsdale, Arizona.
