Mark Salzberg
Biography

Born in Flemington, New Jersey. Married to Donna with three children. He began collecting coins at age 7. Employed at 14 by John Albanese. Employed full time as a dealer after 1978. Employed by Tom Noe in 1983.
Salzberg and Albanese founded Numismatic Guarantee Corporation (NGC) in 1988. Chairman of NGC and Numismatic Conservations Service (NCS).
He received an ANA Presidential Award in 1998. In 2006 he was honored as ANA “Numismatist of the Year.”
In 2021 he was on the Coin World list of The Most Influential People in Numismatics 1960-2020. He made the list again in 2022.
As a family in 2023, Mark and Andy Salzberg were on the Coin World list of 100 Most Influential People in Numismatics.
He retired from NGC on June 30, 2023.
