Born in Brooklyn, New York. Received B.A. from Brooklyn College in 1953, M.A. also from Brooklyn College in 1958 and Ed.D. from the University of Southern California in 1971. Married to Pearl Rottenberg on December 27, 1977. They have four children.
Employed as a science teacher in 1952. He began as professor of education at Chapman College in 1971. He became dean of Newport University School of Education in 1982 and retired in 1984. Since 1985 he has been in the real estate business.
He served as president of the Whittier Coin Club 1964 to 1975 and as president of the Numismatic Association of Southern California 1975 to 1976. He is the founder of The Society of Lincoln Cent Collectors and president since 1982.
He has published more than 100 articles in numismatic publications since 1961. Author of the Standard Guide to the Lincoln Cent. Author of The Collectors' and Investor's Guide to the Lincoln Cent issued in 1982 at $6.95. Author of The Standard Guide to Love Tokens issued at $3.95. He conducted 6 auction sales 1976 to 1984.
