Stephen R. Taylor
Biography
Born in Dover, Delaware. Served in U.S. Navy. Married to Beulah Logan in 1948. They have a son and a daughter. Employed as a bank vice president, retired in 1983.
Taylor collects banknotes of countries that begin with the letter "U."
Founder and past president of the Kent Coin Club in Dover, Delaware. Served as board member of GENA and SPMC. Past president of Milford (DE) Stamp and Coin Club. He served as president of GSNA, MANA, MSNA and the Currency Club of Chester County (PA). He served on the ANA board 1981 to 1985, as vice president 1985 to 1987 and president 1987 to 1989. He received the Glenn Smedley Memorial Award in 1991 and medal of Merit in 1997.
His exhibit of $1 U. S. Notes of 1862-1929 won the Howland Wood Bost-of-Show Exhibit Award in 1978. Named a Krause Publications Numismatic Ambassador in 1979.
He died at Kent General Hosital in Dover, Delaware.
