Helen Carmody-Lebo
Biography
Born Helen Lensky in Connecticut. Attended the University of Connecticut. Among her jobs she worked for Frank Stanton at CBS.
Married to Don Carmody who died October 2,1994. Remarried to Jerry Lebo in December 1998.
Founding member of the Society of U. S. Commemorative Coins and editor of The Commemoraitve Trail.
ANA board member 1993 to 1999 and vice presiden in 1999. She received the ANA Glenn Smedley Memorial Award in 1990, Medal of Merit in 1991, First to receive the Outstanding Regional Coordinator Award in 1994. She was also a Numismac News Numismatic Ambassador in 1991.
She died in an apartment fire in Huntington Beach, California, probably caused by smoking in bed.
