Served in United States Navy. Graduated from Ferris State College in 1950. Married to Bert with four children. Pharmaceutical specialist with Upjohn Company. Scout leader and winner of the Silver Beaver.
President of Michigan State Numismatic Society. Past president of Kalamazoo Numismatic Club and paper Money Collectors of Michigan. . He was named a Numismatic News Numismatic Ambassador in 1998.
He died at Bronson Methodist Hospital.
