Lewis Kirby Ferguson

Biography

Born in Algona, Iowa. Attended Iowa State University. Married to Maria B. December 11, 1952. They have a daughter. Veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Employed with the Iowa State Highway Commission from 1956 until retirement in 1974.

Ferguson served as president of the Iowa Numismatic Association. His collection of trade tokens was sold privately.

He wrote the maverick column for the TAMS Journal for 18 years. He wrote articles for The Numismatist and Numismatic Scrapbook magazine. Author of Trade Tokens of Iowa in 1972. A second edition was published in 1982 with annual supplements written by Ferguson until 1991.
