Correspondence from the Superintendent of the Denver Mint to the Mint Director in Washington, D.C.
Series description: This series consists of copies of letters sent to the Director of the Mint from the Superintendent of the U.S. Mint, Denver. These letters are concerned with the general administration of the Mint, including accounts, fiscal matters, personnel, equipment, and supplies. Other letters relate to shipments of bullion from other mints, assaying work done for the Forest Service and the General Land Office, and reports on the value of gold and silver. Also included in this series are copies of letters sent from the Superintendent to heads of other mints, primarily the melter and refiner, and the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury.
