Archivo Histórico Nacional de Madrid
The National Historical Archive is a state-owned archive, managed by the Ministry of Culture and dependent on the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Fine Arts. Today, with more than 40 km of shelves and one of the best collections of medieval parchments that are preserved, it stands out for the breadth of its chronological arc, from the year 687 to the present, and for preserving documentary testimonies from all over the world. Its mission is to gather, preserve and disseminate documentary historical heritage, including digital heritage, and serve as a historical archive of the General Administration of the State.
