For some reason, I've always found the history of the engraving process really interesting, and one of the times that a lot of drama occurred was in 1909, when Charles Barber, Victor David Brenner, and the greater population squabbled over the inclusion of Brenner's 'VDB' initials on the newly minted Lincoln Wheat Cent. I delved deeper into some of the backstory and behind-the-scenes surrounding the creation of the iconic 1909-S VDB & regular 1909 VDB coins that many coin collectors know about.
