This introductory presentation will cover the series of rectangular silver coins issued in pre-Meiji Japan from 1765 to 1868. These enigmatic issues are even more difficult to research than they are to collect, but this presentation will provide an overview of the history, identifying features, and pricing trends behind each issue.
