Medals of the Hall of Fame for Great Americans at New York University 2019

Medals of the Hall of Fame for Great Americans at New York University

The Medallic Art Company, from 1962 until the mid-1970s, produced portrait medals honoring inductees to the Hall of Fame for Great Americans at New York University. The medal engravers included some of the best-known names in the field, and this guide will be an indispensable resource for collectors of this series. The approach taken by the author is similar to his treatment of early 20th century American art medals (American Art Medals, 1909-1995, published by the American Numismatic Society), including metrology, historical context, and critical assessments of each medal. Graphic design and layout are by Lianna Spurrier.
