Author of American Gold and Silver U. S. Mint Collector and Investor Coins and Medals, Bicentennial to Date. Editor of Almanac of United States Coins (2013).
He was named a Numismatic Ambassador in 2017. Appointed to the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee in 2016 and 2020. On March 23, 2021, he was commissioned as a Kentucky Colonel by Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear.
In 2021 he was on the Coin World list of The Most Influential People in Numismatics 1960-2020. He received an ANA Glenn Smedley Memorial Award in 2023.
