Eastman, Harvey

Born in Marshall, New York. Brother of Edmund. Cousin of George Eastman of Eastman-Kodak. Married Mary Minerva Clark on June 5, 1857.

Founder of Eastman Commercial College in 1859.
Mayor of Poughkeepsie, New York 1871-74. Served in New York State Assembly 1872 -1874.

Author of Eastman's Treatise on Counterfeit, Altered and Spurious Bank Notes (St. Louis, 1859).

He died in Denver, Colorado. Eastman National Business College issued college currency and Civil War tokens. The name of H. G. Eastman as president appears on some of the college currency. His portrait appears on some currency and on advertising covers.
