Insull Medal Recipients: The Insull Medal for Resuscitation was announced by the National Electric Light Association in May, 1922 as an award for saving the life of a victim of electric shock by the Schafer Prone Pressure Method. Samuel Insull, head of the Commonwealth Edison Co. of Chicago, funded the award.

McCarter Roll: The McCarter Medal for Resuscitation was established by Thomas N. McCarter, president of the Public Service Corporation of New Jersey to be awarded to employees of Gas Companies who saved the lives of those who became victims of gas asphyxiation. The Schafer Prone Pressure Method of resuscitation had to be used. The American Gas Association announced the McCarter Medal in April, 1924 and McCarter provided a fund to endow the award in September, 1924.
