In the Calendar of Documents relating to Ireland, circa 1285 (iii. 8), there is a reference stating that the Bishop of Waterford, Stephen de Fulborn, caused new money to be made. It was called Scalding, Bishop's money, or Stephening, from the name of the Bishop. See Brabant.
