Bakelite

Bakelite.  A synthetic resin material rarely used as a medallic composition. Bakelite is made by condensing phenols and formaldehyde; it is named after its inventor, L.H.

Baekeland, and is a trademarked name. Dyes can be added to the clear or amber-colored substance to make it any color. It is molded to form the design.
