Description | [back] The Coining Room, U.S. Mint, Philadelphia. At this time, circa 1903, the Philadelphia Mint employed the services of twenty-five coining presses- more presses than in all the government mints combined. All of the bronze and nickel pieces used in the United States were produced on these presses, as well as a portion of the nation's silver and gold coinage. |
