| Description | 1867 5C Rays MS62 NGC. The mintage of With Rays nickels represents merely 6.5% of all Shield nickel production in the series' second year. The rays were removed from the reverse early in 1867 after excessive striking difficulty was encountered, creating a popular two-year type. This Uncirculated representative displays crisp detail on the shield, upper olive leaves, and stars. The 7 in the date is slightly incomplete.
