Description | (1670-75) 1/2 P St. Patrick Halfpenny, Vlack 4-E, Breen-204, W-11540, VF25 NGC. Die alignment: 360?. A distinctly stringed harp and a bright brass splasher to the crown command attention on this piece, which is more weakly struck at the obverse peripheries. Some pitting to the reverse is noted. Breen called this variety ""very rare."" The St. Patrick coinage has remained a mystery, though it has been collected as part of the New Jersey Colonial series for many years.
