1909 5C PR67 NGC. CAC. The 1909 nickel had the lowest Philadelphia business strike mintage after 1896 for the Liberty Head series, but had the largest proof production at 4,763 coins. The number of survivors is lower than the production figure would suggest. This beautifully preserved piece displays frosty luster and faint toning. Only nine non-Cameo examples have been awarded higher numeric grades by NGC (10/13). Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
