1849/8 H10C MS63 NGC. CAC. V-2, FS-302. The Guide Book refers to this variety as 1849/6, while Cherrypickers' calls it an 1849/8, similar to FS-301. In any event, it is a dramatic repunched date variety that carries a large premium over the "normal" date. A well struck dime with deep gunmetal-gray toning and a few thin marks near the D and M in DIME. Census: 6 in 63, 15 finer (10/13). Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
