1853 H10C Arrows MS65 NGC. CAC. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. A record mintage of half dimes was coined in 1853, as the Mint struggled to replace hoarded old tenor silver coins with new tenor examples. This lustrous and minimally marked Gem has dappled russet-gray obverse toning. The reverse exhibits only light tan and olive hues. Well struck except for the dentils, which are generally soft. Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $0.75; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
