1876-CC 10C MS66+ NGC. CAC. Type Two Reverse. The difference between the Type One and Type Two reverse is subtle, but distinguished by the proximity between the E and ONE and the edge of the wreath, with the E farther removed from the wreath on the Type Two. Brian Greer (1992) assigns an R.7 rarity rating to Type Two Reverse Mint State examples, and Gerry Fortin writes that this variety brings a strong premium over Coin World Trends/Coin Values. A medley of cobalt-blue, orange-gold, and lavender toning adorns the lustrous surfaces of this high-end Premium Gem, and the design features are sharply struck. Census: 20 in 66 (1 in 66+), 6 finer (10/13). Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
