1842 25C Large Date MS64 NGC. Only 88,000 business-strike Seated Liberty quarters were struck at the Philadelphia Mint in 1842, all with a Large Date. The variety is listed on page 167 of the 2014 Guide Book. This remarkable Choice example is well-detailed and brightly lustrous. The obverse displays frosty central devices with a frame of vivid golden-brown and cobalt-blue toning, while the reverse is a lighter shade of champagne-gold. Eye appeal is outstanding.
