Description 1877-CC 25C MS66 NGC. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. Type Two Reverse. Attractive patina and near-immaculate preservation are hallmarks of this high-mintage 1877-CC quarter, one of the finest survivors from the large production of nearly 4.2 million pieces. Generous mint luster prevails over both sides, the obverse pinkish-gray and the reverse a bit more lavishly toned in a range of pinkish, light blue, and rose hues. The strike is quite sharp for a CC-mint coin overall. Census: 9 in 66 (1 in 66+), 4 finer (10/13). Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $5.00; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society. Realized $5,875.00 . Description courtesy of Heritage Auctions, ha.com.
