1898 25C PR68 Cameo NGC. The mirrors on this piece accentuate the satiny devices, all of which are sharply defined, including the upper-right shield corner, the arrow feathers and adjacent claw, elements that are sometimes soft. A blush of rainbow-like toning resides on the lower portrait of Liberty. As expected, the surfaces are immaculately preserved. This piece will see spirited bidding among aficionados of Barber proofs. Census: 10 in 68 (1 in 68 S) Cameo, 2 finer (10/13). Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
