1899 25C PR68 NGC. The deeply reflective fields shine brightly on each side of this ultimate type coin. The centers are mostly brilliant, with just a slight accent of color, while the rims are surrounded by wide rings of deep red and bright blue toning. We see significant mint frost on the devices, but NGC apparently did not see enough to call the coin a Cameo. The 1899 has a certain charm as the final year of the 19th century, and coins of all denominations enjoy an added popularity as such. This magnificent proof is tied for finest NCG-certified with six others and three Cameo coins at the same grade level (10/13). Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
