1907 25C PR68 Cameo NGC. CAC. The Mint's brief experiment with the no-contrast method of proofing lasted from 1902 through 1903. But even after the "semi-brilliant" finish was abandoned, strongly contrasted proofs are seen with much less frequency than prior to 1902. This immaculately preserved quarter shows pronounced contrast between the fields and devices. As expected from an Eric P. Newman type coin, each side is lavishly toned. In this case, light rings of multicolored toning are seen with significant portions of original brilliance still in evidence as well. Census: 3 in 68 (1 in 68 S) Cameo, 1 finer (10/13). Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
