1882 50C PR67+ Cameo NGC. CAC. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. Although the proof mintage totals were unremarkable, the circulation-strike production totals for Seated halves in 1882 and 1884 represented the lowest points of the 1880s, with 4,400 pieces struck in each year. This high-end Superb Gem Cameo proof displays outstanding eye appeal throughout, the product of a full proof strike, excellent contrast between reflective fields and largely silver-white devices, and rims tipped with gold and medium-blue accents. Census: 5 in 67 (1 in 67+, 1 in 67 S) Cameo, 1 finer (10/13). Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $6.50; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
