1889-CC $1 AU58 NGC. CAC. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. The 1889-CC Morgan dollar appears over a wide grade range, but series aficionados know that Mint State coins are seldom seen and are in great demand. This is due to the huge popularity of the series and the 1889-CC's status as one of the keys to the business-strike set. The average certified survivor is between VF30 and VF35. The surfaces of this near-Mint State 1889-CC Morgan dollar are still quite lustrous throughout, primarily silver-gray with touches of olive and amber. Scarcely a trace of high-point wear is visible on either side. A couple of minor ticks appear on Liberty's cheek and neck. The reverse color palette is similar, showing tinges of pale bluish-gray. Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $3.00; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
