1820 50C Square Base No Knob 2, Large Date MS63 NGC. O-106, R.1. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. Forest-green and rose-red endow the peripheries of this satiny, softly lustrous, and minimally abraded coin. The strike is generally crisp; only the eagle's claws and stem below are soft. The acquisition of a high grade 1820 half-dollar is a challenge for date collectors. The mintage of 751,122 is third lowest of the Capped Bust series, behind the 1815 and 1807. Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $3.50; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
