1821 50C MS64 NGC. CAC. O-105a, R.1. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. Cracks across the upper reverse legends identify the terminal die state of this die pair. In a word, the toning is spectacular! And, yes, original. Powder-blue and tobacco-brown margins surround the patinated centers, which are steel-gray and tan-gold on the obverse and sea-green on the reverse. Here is a coin that must be seen to be believed. A stepchild of 1820, the rarity of Uncirculated 1821s remains unappreciated. This offering would be the capstone to many collections of Capped Bust half dollars. Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $2.00; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
