1836 50C Lettered Edge MS64+ NGC. O-101, R.1. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. Stars 6 and 7 are repunched, as is the left stand of the N in UNITED. A noticeably prooflike near-Gem with reflective fields beneath deep navy-blue and lavender-red toning. The strike is bold except on the neck curls. Completely devoid of marks, though we note a gray spot on the right obverse field. The envelope records this piece as a "Brilliant proof." Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R.
