1844 50C MS63 NGC. WB-101. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. This attractive coin earned its place as the plate coin for NGC's 1844 half dollar Coin Explorer. Although a common date with a fairly high mintage, this coin is desirable for the stunning toning and select Mint State grade. This piece shows lustrous silver fields with wonderful gold and amber peripheral toning. There are only a few tiny abrasions present. The obverse displays die cracks from the left rock base to the rim at 7 o'clock and from Liberty's foot to the rim at 4 o'clock; the reverse has die cracks through the denomination to the rim at 4 o'clock. A lovely and desirable coin. Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $7.50; Eric P.
