Description 1877-S 50C MS65 NGC. WB-104, Die State WB-29, R.3. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. Type Two Reverse, showing a closed berry or closed bud on the underside of the olive branch. Very Small S mintmark. A small die lump and die line, both visible only with a glass, appear in the eagle's upper neck feathers. There is also a small die lump in the feathers to the right of the shield. A die crack runs from the bottoms of STATES OF A to the scroll above GOD. This is an attractive and well-struck near-Gem with scattered olive-gold, dove-gray, and pinkish-gray patina. The eye appeal is excellent. Census: 29 in 65 (2 in 65+, 1 in 65 S), 22 finer (10/13).
