1879 50C MS63 NGC. CAC. WB-102. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. The 1879 issue marks the beginning of a long stretch of low-mintage Philadelphia-only dates for the half dollar. The lustrous surfaces of this Select specimen show silvery-white centers framed by deeper bluish-gray patination imbued with traces of medium brown. The design features are exquisitely struck.
