1879 50C MS65 NGC. WB-102. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. Silvery-gray surfaces display just a hint of prooflikeness and whispers of soft blue and rose patina. Solidly struck throughout, neither side reveals mentionable marks. The low mintage of 4,800 circulation strikes is undoubtedly due to the implementation of the Bland-Allison Act of 1878 that required the production of large quantities of silver dollars. Census: 44 in 65 (2 in 65+), 47 finer (10/13). Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $6.00; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
