1866 50C Motto PR66 NGC. WB-101. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. Only 725 proof Liberty Seated half dollars were struck in 1866, with the new motto IN GOD WE TRUST on the reverse. This coin shows the normal date, slanting slightly down, and the letters RI in AMERICA touching on the reverse that are diagnostics of the proof format. The design elements are sharply detailed throughout, and the mirrored fields show no mentionable defects. Rings of cerulean-blue and lime-green toning accent the brilliant silver centers, with tremendous eye appeal. Census: 11 in 66 (1 in 66 S), 1 finer (9/13). Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R.
