1902 50C PR64 Cameo NGC. CAC. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. Although the Mint changed proof finishes in 1902, from the old frosted devices to the new all-brilliant style, a few of the first coins struck show the frosty design elements of earlier years. This coin is one of those rare examples, with bold cameo contrast apparent between the sharply detailed devices and the deeply mirrored fields. Wisps of cobalt-blue and champagne-gold toning add to the terrific eye appeal. Census: 3 in 64 Cameo, 4 finer (10/13). Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $7.00; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
