1906 50C PR65 NGC. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. Cameo finish on silver proof coins is infrequently seen between the years 1902 and 1915 owing to a change in the Mint's manufacturing process. In fact, of the 252 proof half dollars of 1906 graded by NGC, only nine (or 3.6%) are designated Cameos. The present Gem offering displays pronounced field-motif contrast that is even more stunning because of the bold strike. Rainbow-like toning gravitates to the borders of both sides. Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $8.00; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
