1915 50C PR67 NGC. Ex: "Col." E.H.R. Green. The mintage of proof Barber half dollars was a meager 450 pieces in 1915, the last year of the design. The Philadelphia business-strike mintage was also quite low, at only 138,000 pieces. As a result, the proofs are prized by series enthusiasts and type collectors alike. The present coin is a spectacular Superb Gem, with deeply mirrored fields that are accented by shades of violet and lime-green toning. The design elements exhibit pinpoint definition throughout, with a frosty texture that creates some elements of undesignated contrast. Census: 13 in 67 (1 in 67+), 4 finer (9/13). Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R. Green; Green Estate; Partnership of Eric P. Newman / B.G. Johnson d.b.a. St. Louis Stamp & Coin Co.; Eric P. Newman @ $10.00; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
