1859-O $1 AU50 NGC. As one of the more frequently encountered issues in the Seated dollar series, the 1859-O is a logical choice for type purposes for many collectors. The problem with assembling a circulated type set or set of Seated dollars, is locating original coins. That is not a problem here, and it is a statement that can be expanded to cover most, if not all, of the coins offered from the holdings of Eric P. Newman. This is an originally and deeply toned example. The devices show slight, even friction from circulation and the strike is strong overall except for Liberty's hair. Faint traces of mint luster can be seen around the devices on both obverse and reverse. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
