1870 $1 PR63 NGC. A generous mintage of 1,000 proof Seated Liberty dollars was struck in 1870, but the date is more difficult to locate than that figure would suggest. It is possible that some of the mintage went unsold and was melted. This attractive Select specimen exhibits razor-sharp definition on all design elements and the fields are deeply reflective, with a few hints of pale jade toning.
