1871 $1 PR63 NGC. The 1871 Seated Liberty dollar claims a large proof mintage of 960 pieces, the second highest production total of the With Motto type. This attractive Select example displays frosty, sharply detailed design elements and deeply mirrored fields that show distinct elements of contrast, though not enough to merit a Cameo designation. The brilliant surfaces show a few minor, grade-consistent contact marks and hairlines in the fields. Census: 41 in 63, 57 finer (9/13). Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
