Description |
1876 T$1 PR64+ NGC. The Type One obverse shows Liberty with only three fingers and a thumb on the outstretched hand, and the Type Two reverse has no berry beneath the eagle's claw. Most proofs from this year are of this type, but 1876 is the only year proofs are available with three different obverse / reverse combinations. This is a splendidly toned upper-end proof that is nearly brilliant in the centers, then gradually toning to ever deeper rose hues and finally surrounded at the margins by bright cerulean blue.
