1787 1C Fugio Copper "Cent," STATES UNITED, Pointed Rays, Four Cinquefoils VF30 NGC. Newman 19-M, W-6970, R.6. 155.6 grains. The Newman 19-M is a rare variety with differing estimates suggesting a population between five and 30 coins. Most students of the Fugio series suggest an R.6 rating, with perhaps a couple dozen known in all grades. While both sides have myriad marks and minor roughness, the sharpness is excellent and the overall eye appeal of this olive and steel example is respectable. Ex: Eric P.
