Description Brunswick-Luneburg-Calenberg-Hannover. George I of England gold Pfennig 1726-EPH, KM-Pn1, MS61 NGC. A boldly struck presentation strike with greenish-gold patina and full mint brilliance. George I was born in Hannover and inherited the titles to the Duchy of Brunswick-Luneburg. Although George's mother Sophia, as Electress of Hannover, was next in line for the throne, she predeceased Queen Anne. Upon Anne's death, George became King of England. Ex: "Colonel" E.H.R.
