1788 COPPER Connecticut Copper, Mailed Bust Right VF35 NGC M. 2-D, W-4405, R.1. 126.5 grains. Both sides are nicely centered, although the upper obverse legend is tight against the edge. A prominent die crack appears below the back of the bust, with advanced crumbling along the right side of the I and a delicate crack from the B in LIB. Golden-tan and dark mahogany-brown surfaces exhibit traces of old greenish corrosion. Both sides are minutely granular. Ex: Henry Chapman; Hillyer Ryder; Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
