1787 COPPER New Jersey Copper, No Sprig above Plow XF40 NGC. M. 46-e, W-5250, R.1. 163.6 grains. This copper is a middle stage Die State 3 piece with obverse clash marks but no die failure under the plow handles. The strike is minutely off-center on this example, with the top and right obverse border complete within a blank outer margin. Both sides of this olive-brown example are moderately granular, with maroon oxidation and bright green corrosion spots on the reverse. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society.
